Woman? Lady? Mother?

This coming Sunday’s gospel reading is from John 2:1-11. Many Protestants use John 2:4 as a proof text to downplay the role of Mary.
It is interesting to note how the Greek word γύναι (gynai) is translated in Urdu:

Khátún (Lady) in the Urdu Catholic Bible.
‘Aurat (Woman) in the Urdu Protestant Bible

To find out how in Greek, nouns and pronouns change their form depending on the role that they are playing in a sentence, check out Jimmy Akin’s article: Was Jesus Dissing His Mother When He Called Her "Woman"? Click here
